Off-Day

I woke up today with the sniffles, and after doing some refreshing yoga and eating some yummy french toast made lovingly by my mom, my day got a little worse as one thing after another went wrong. Granted, they were little things (like I wanted soup for lunch, and it just happened to be one of the days when the school wasn't serving soup... and I went to musical practice, feeling totally crummy but determined to tough it out, only to be told that I didn't need to be there), but there were a lot of them, and these things add up.

Overwhelmed, I actually started crying when I was calling home for a ride back from the practice I didn't need to be at. It just wasn't my day.

Thank goodness for loving mothers who take you to the store on these days to buy some soup and apple juice (the beverage that is so comforting when heated up) and rent a movie.

Have any of you been sick recently or had an off-day? What do you do to feel better?

Sorry you had an off-day :(
There isn't a specific list of things I do on those days... I just try to forget about the sad things with things I like. First of all, you have to relax (take a hot bath, go for a walk, sit down in a Cafe with your favorite drink and let people distract you, etc)You can listen to radio, especially radio shows like Delilah, haha... her voice is so soothing sometimes and you also get to hear wonderful love messages. If you have some money, get a pedicure! So relaxing!
I once had a horrible hectic week at school, and in order to "start over" I got a haircut on Friday, relaxed, and thought about how much better next week would be. Soo, yeah, so many things you can do... and your soup with apple cyder along with the movie sound awesome too! I hope your day is much better now :)

I hate days like that. I was super sick last week and had to move out of my apartment, plus my last day of moving it was cold, wet and snowy all day. By 9 that night I was so exhausted and miserable that I just drove over to my boyfriend's house and started bawling. He was super sweet and gave me a big hug and rubbed my back.

The best thing I've found that helps is to just take a nap or go to sleep early that night! That way you'll wake up feeling better and have a fresh start at the day.
