You haven't had one of those experiences when someone said something and it was like, "Why did you have to tell me that?" Because it only made you feel bad and didn't benefit anyone?
Let's say your parents, when you were younger, were in such deep money trouble that it was a real possibility that they would lose the house. That's not something they would want to burden their kids with.
Whenever someone says to me, "You don't want to know," and I think they mean it, I drop it. Because I believe them.
