Today will be spent cleaning up for the new year. I've compiled an end-of-2009 playlist of the best songs of the year. I also threw in some random songs that I really liked this year. Enjoy!

The day when I am thankful for Katie (I forgot how nice it is to have her around), Lilly's sunny personality (it makes me smile so big), and things that are so funny, I'm still laughing about it hours later.

New Playlist: IMPORTANT
The playlist seems to be having some issues, but if you click the "Get Tracks" link on the gadget, it will take you to the page with my playlist. Theme: The Nutcracker Ballet. :)
Hopefully things will be back up and running soon.
PROBLEM REALIZED: YOUTUBE REQUIRES THAT THE AUDIO NOT BE SEPARATED FROM THE VIDEO, SO VIDEOS WILL NOW ACCOMPANY THE TRACKS. PLAYLIST WORKING AGAIN!

A Cup Of Tea
Conclusion: my Twinings Irish Breakfast Tea is really good. (As far as black tea goes)
The rest of the week will be spent getting through school while working on a very important art project. Are you involved in a project? Maybe you should be!
Tonight I had my orchestra Christmas concert, and it went well.
Which reminds me.. I need to change the playlist.
Hope you all had a good Monday!

Today I am thankful for Dairy Queen, chicken strips, huge bacon burgers, black tea, Starbucks tumblers, Crescent illustration board, receptions after concerts (Amy's symphony had pie), and Rich - who kindly paid for our dinner.

Chatting Over Coffee
So imagine we meet for coffee at a cute little coffee shop, Sweet Beans. We rush inside to escape the light snow flurry, and our cold noses and pink cheeks immediately warm from the wave of heat coming off the fireplace on the side. We smile at each other, equally relieved by the existence of this little safe haven. I gesture to the excessively cushioned seats near the fire, you nod, and after plopping our insulated winter coats and scarves onto our seats, effectively marking them as 'occupied', we order our drinks. Carrying hot cups foaming at the top with pure goodness, we make our way back to the little nook we've created and settle in for a long chat.
For my part, this is what I say:
What do you say?

For my part, this is what I say:
"I love Sundays for, let's say, three reasons. For one- it's the beginning of a new week. Call me silly, but it just gives me this feeling of a fresh start, every time. Okay, for two, it's so relaxed. Everybody's just sitting around their houses, sleeping or doing something equally relieving. And for three, ...it's not Monday yet.
"I just bought this new box of Twinings Irish breakfast tea. I can't wait to try it - every morning before school, I make myself either coffee or tea. It's really nice. Kind of gets me into the mode. I'm definitely becoming more of a morning person because of it.
"Oh, I meant to tell you- I think you know that I read Eat Pray Love a few weeks ago? You should read it, it's so good. Well, I read in a magazine yesterday that the author, Elizabeth Gilbert, is just coming out with a new book called Committed. There was a little half-page article about it, and it's basically about marriage. I'm really looking forward to reading it now. Otherwise I've just started another book called Into the Wild. It's like a biography of a man who was really well-to-do and had just graduated with fantastic grades from college and then he just donated all his money to a charity and lived off the land for a while. It's really interesting..."

SNOW DAY!!
This is a video I just watched for the first time yesterday. I love Lady Gaga's music, and I admire her courage in the things she does. :)
***
There was no post yesterday because my mind was consumed by Jane Eyre, which I
FINISHED!!! And yes, it was good. I recommend it. To everyone.

ADDED!!:
Today I am thankful for hot chocolate packets (Seldom does anyone have time to home-make real hot chocolate), snow days, sleeping in, and short term memory (or I would never have seen my cell phone again- it was on the floor between a bed and a bookcase).

Just a Little Post

Doesn't this look so delicious? I love shrimp... especially in pasta. I AM having alfredo pasta for dinner, but with shell noodles and ground beef instead. :)
I am totally craving warm food lately. Cold salad and apples just won't do! (Even though I know it's healthier than mini corn dogs..) The best gift I could get lately is something warm. Do you agree? My perfect winter day is one involving a hot cup of creamy coffee, a very warm shower, and warm food. Sometimes I think I would make a good bear- stocking up for winter, you know.
ANYWAY! Secret Santa gift is under way... Most excellent.
Do you do Secret Santa?
Do you know what you're giving your recipient?

Awesome Christmas Movies I Plan On Watching All Month

One of the things I love best about my favorite month (another list for another time) without a doubt is being able to comfortably watch Christmas movies. Lots of them. Already, I am forming a list in my mind of movies I MUST watch this holiday season. Let's get that list out, shall we?
1. The Muppet Christmas Carol
SO much better than the original, even if Michael Caine weren't in it!
Which he is. Awesome!

You have no idea how great, wholesome, and high quality these Barbie movies are.
It blows me away. I love them all, and this one is delightful.
Also, they have a Barbie version of A Christmas Carol. Also delightful.
I'll be watching that one too.
3. The Polar ExpressIt's a classic. I have a very fond memory of going on a field trip of going with my elementary school (I hardly believe it was that long ago!) to see this movie at the local theater. We got free bags of popcorn. It was a fantasy. Beautiful animation.
4. How The Grinch Stole ChristmasDr Seuss is truly a genius, and this is one of my favorite Christmas stories. I love the classic animated one, as well as the newer version with Jim Carrey.
5. Santa Claus is Coming to Town"Put one foot in front of the other... and soon you'll be walkin' out the door!"
Oh come on- this is a classic! Berger Myster Myster Berger! There is NO WAY I would miss watching this one.
6. Rudolph the Red-Nosed ReindeerI think it's adorable when Rudolph talks like he has a stuffy nose, and he and the would-be Dentist Elf become friends. Plus- the abominable snow man! And the part with the pickax man! And the part where they float across the ocean on a sheet of ice!
7. ElfIt's because I think Will Farrell is great.
This is the first movie I saw him in.
8.The Santa ClauseThe original is my favorite- I love the little boy, and Bernard with his dreadlocks. Heartwarming, truly.
9.I'll Be Home For ChristmasI never tire of the romance between Jessica Biel and Jonathan Taylor Thomas. To me, he was the past equivalent of Taylor Lautner. Love it.
10. National Lampoon's Christmas VacationMy favorite part might be the opening song, but I enjoy the whole movie. Definitely a favorite. I grew up with this one, strange as it may seem. It's funny, and dysfunctional.
(I also love Serendipity with Kate Beckinsale and John Cusack, but that doesn't really count as a Christmas movie)Do you have any favorite Christmas movies?

Today I am thankful for my friend Justine and her generosity (this not being the first time she bought me food when I had no money), the Onion, and classics like Jane Eyre.

The Way I See It #11
"It's the everyday things, the everyday thoughts, and the everyday behaviors that make up a life."
-Heidi Rose Krill
I just had to include this cartoon- it's so cute.
I grew up with Winne the Pooh.
By the way- the site I linked to has a new Winnie the Pooh cartoon everyday. :)
Bonus: an option to have the cartoon emailed to me daily!
Yipee!
*
Today I am thankful for deliciously flavored coffee creamers, Winnie the Pooh, and getting out of class to play and sing Christmas songs to adorable elementary schoolers!

Sometimes
photo sourceHey, it's not what you are
it's how you feel about it.
Remember you're the one looking at yourself in the mirror,
from your perspective.
I love being me.
It makes me happy.
Happy December Everyone-
a new beginning.
